Longxian County, referred to as Long Zhou in the old days, is well-known for the local Shehuo parade featuring authentic and inclusive performance and simple yet exquisite facial make-up. The Shehuo parade, a time-honored performance enjoying widespread popularity in rural areas across China, originated from ancient sacrificial activities to pray for a good harvest about 2,000 years ago. Later on, as dancing and singing performances were absorbed into the parade, it gradually evolved into a folk custom staged during the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, believed to remove bad luck and bring a fresh start in the new year. The Shehuo folk performance in Baoji made it onto the list of China's national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. Shehuo Parade - China

A young performer helps his teammate arrange costumes in Liuqu Village of Longxian County, Baoji City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, February 9, 2025. And the local Shehuo performance in Longxian County has continued to glow with vitality in inheritance and innovation

An aerial drone photo taken on Dec. 13, 2024 shows a view of Zhentang Township, Dinggye County of Xigaze, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. Zhentang is a remote township bordering Nepal in Dinggye County in the city of Xigaze. Besieged by forests at the foot of Qomolangma deep in the Himalayas, the township has an average altitude of over 2,000 meters and is home to more than 2,600 Sherpa people. Zhentang, meaning "path for transportation," earned its name when Sherpa people would carry large amounts of daily necessities across the steep terrain long ago. Thanks to improved transportation and telecommunication facilities, the Sherpa people in the once-isolated township at the China-Nepal border are now connected with the outside world and embracing modern life. In recent years, Zhentang has focused on developing cross-border trade, aquaculture, tourism and other industries. The per capita disposable income of rural residents in the township is expected to reach 16,578.5 yuan (about 2,278.4 U.S. doll

The US-Supplied Bunker-Busting Bomb Israel Is Using In Lebanon

Handout photo shows October 16, 2012 shows a F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) aircraft completed the first in-flight weapons release of a 2,000 pound GBU-31 BLU-109 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) from a 5th Generation fighter. The munitions Israel used to kill Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, have been identified as US-supplied “bunker-busting” bombs. A video published by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) showed eight planes taking off fitted with about 15 900kg bombs. Dr Nic Jenzen-Jones, director of arms intelligence consultancy Armament Research Services (ARES), identified the bombs as BLU-109s, also known as “bunker-busters” as they are capable of destroying military bunkers deep underground.
